SLOPE SIDE MOUNTAIN MODERN
STRATTON MOUNTAIN, VERMONT
This slope side townhome at Stratton Mountain in Vermont went through an expansion and dramatic transformation. With the addition of new floor area to both the third and fourth floors, we were able to go from a 4 bedroom, 2 ½ bath unit to an efficiently designed 6 bedroom 6 ½ bath residence.
The clients had a strong affinity for clean modern design but wanted this residence to feel like a ski home. With this being this asthetic goal, we worked to find a balance in a design style that provided a blend in mountain style materials & textures with maintaining clean modern lines. Providing plenty of pure white walls to aid in providing reflections of light throughout, there is a blend of natural elements of white oak floors, textured white oak walls and ceilings accented throughout. Local Vermont Panton Stone is used on the main living fireplace with a solid marble surround and hearth. All the bathrooms were designed with visible towel storage for guests and medicine cabinets for additional storage. The wall hung toilets save floor space as well as add a modern element. Floating custom designed vanities provide some design uniqueness to each space with the hand selected wood and finishes.
